Seat 2: Disaster Resilience & Recovery
Claim: Lord of epidemics from smallpox onward; pandemic preparedness is the modern discipline of his outbreaks. Exhibit: The Dog and the Herb — Stories of Ọbalúayé often involve a dog who leads a sufferer to a healing herb or a stream.
Verdict: holds under load. The correspondence is functional, not decorative.
Seat 3: Faith & Spiritual Organizations
Claim: Venerated across the Americas as healer of the sick. Exhibit: Babalú Ayé at the Crossroads — In Cuban Santería, Babalú Ayé is depicted as an old beggar at the crossroads, leaning on crutches, accompanied by dogs.
Verdict: stands. Strip both to their function and the functions match.
