How Þrúðr was rebuilt, mark by mark
Bench notes, Þrúðr: what we found, what we rejected, and what we finally set down. Kept in the open, because a restoration you cannot audit is just a spelling with confidence.
What We Found
The attestation runs through the tradition's own sources: ᚦᚱᚢᚦᚱ. Meaning: "Strength, power".
The figure behind the name: Þrúðr's mythology is sparse but charged: every mention of her name is a mention of power — in a god-list, in a valkyrie-roster, in one full comic tale, and cut in runes at the head of a chieftain's grave.
What the Name Carried In
The Daughter in the Catalogue. In the Prose Edda, Snorri's chapter on kennings tells the skalds how to name Þórr: son of Óðinn and Jǫrð, husband of Sif — and, in a single catalogue line, faðir Magni ok Móða ok Þrúðar, “father of Magni and Móði and Þrúðr” (Skáldskaparmál 4). That line is her whole dossier in the family mythology: no story tells of her childhood, no poem gives her a deed among the gods.
Among the Choosers of the Slain. The Poetic Edda lists her again among the Valkyries. In Grímnismál, Óðinn — racked between two fires in the hall of King Geirrǫðr — names the maidens who serve the warriors of Valhǫll: “Hrist and Mist I would have bear me the horn; Skeggjǫld and Skǫgul; Hildr and Þrúðr; Hlǫkk and Herfjǫtur; Gunnr and Gǫndul” (Grímnismál 36).
A spelling that has to carry stories like these is not a label. It is equipment.
Where It Stood Before Us
Þrúðr is primarily a textual figure, but her name appears materially on the Karlevi runestone (Öl 1) on Öland, Sweden, c. 1000 CE. No image or temple can be securely identified with her. Her wider presence is in the Eddic manuscripts and the skaldic poetry that praised dead warriors as her servants. The bench inherits all of it — the web temple is the newest site, not the first.

What We Set Down
Þrúðr — Tier-1 is not a compliment; it is a measurement. This restoration keeps something the ASCII form provably loses, and the measurement is repeatable.
For the voice: 'THROOTH-r' — the first syllable is long and stressed, with the 'th' of 'thin' and a long 'oo' sound; the final 'r' is lightly pronounced.
The temple stands at /thrudr/ — the notes above are public in its Scholarly Edition, sources and all.
