Walk into any agriculture, food & harvest outfit and watch for ten minutes. You will see a very old act performed with newer props. The act has a name. It is Ninigi.

Before the Office, the Story

The Descent from Heaven. Amaterasu decided that her grandson Ninigi should rule the terrestrial world. She gave him the Three Sacred Regalia and sent him down to Takachiho in Kyūshū. The earthly kami Ōkuninushi initially resisted but eventually submitted after negotiations and divine pressure.

Marriage to Konohana-Sakuya-hime. Ninigi met the princess Konohana-Sakuya-hime, daughter of the mountain god Ōyamatsumi, beside a blossoming tree. She promised to bear his children, but when her pregnancy was doubted, she entered a birthing hut and set it on fire, vowing that the children would survive if they were truly his. Hoderi and Hoori were born from the flames, proving her words.
