Logi has one great scene and one great family. The scene is the eating contest in Útgarða-Loki's hall, the showpiece of Þórr's eastern journey in Gylfaginning; the family is the Fornjótr genealogy, which makes him fire brothered to sea and wind. Between them the mythology says everything it has to say about him: he is not a character with a history but an element with a name — and his single appearance is constructed to prove exactly that.

The Myth at Work
The Road to Útgarðr. Þórr sets out east for Jǫtunheimr with Loki for company, and at a peasant's farm takes the children Þjálfi and Rǫskva as his servants. On the road they meet the giant who calls himself Skrýmir: they sleep, unknowing, in the thumb of his dropped glove, and Þórr's three hammer-blows in the night — which the giant greets as a leaf, an acorn, and a bird's dropping — will be explained only later. — hold that image; the industries below are where it goes to work.
The Eating Contest. Útgarða-Loki, the giant-king, declares that no one may stay in his hall who is not master of some art or accomplishment beyond other men. Loki, travel-hungry and never at a loss, speaks first: no one in the hall can eat faster than he can. — remember the shape of that act. You will see it again, wearing a logo.

The eating contest no one can win — appetite as an element, not a competitor. — the atlas stops there, out of discipline. The myth keeps going: the function Logi performs in the stories is precisely the function this industry sells.
The Long Employment
The eating contest is one of the most retold scenes of the Norse revival: the Kearys' The Heroes of Asgard (1857) made Útgarða-Loki's hall a set-piece for English-reading children, and every handbook since keeps Logi's trough beside Hugi's running and Elli's wrestling as the triad of unwinnable contests — fire, thought, and age, the three things no champion beats. The nineteenth century's false etymology had an afterlife of its own: Wagner's Loge, and a long tail of fire-trickster Loki in popular fiction, are children of the conflation scholarship has buried. The age changed. The work did not.
The Method, Stated Plainly
The atlas is not a horoscope. Seats are earned from the sources — argued, weighted, published — and every one of them can be challenged at the methodology page. A match that cannot survive an argument does not survive review. That is the whole trick: the patterns are claims, and claims can be tested.
