Pḗgasos walks into a aviation & aerospace firm
The aviation & aerospace world does not cite Pḗgasos in its documentation. It does not need to — it performs the archetype daily, unbilled.
Before the Office, the Story
Out of the Gorgon. Hesiod tells it in four lines: when Perseus cut the head from Médousa, out sprang great Pḗgasos and the warrior Chrysaōr — her children by Poseidṓn. The horse flew to the "immortal ones," and Hesiod already knows his office: "he lives in the halls of Zeús, carrying thunder and lightning for the counsellor.
Bellerophōn's Gift. The hero Bellerophōn, sent to Lykia with a letter demanding his own death, was ordered to kill the Chimaira. Píndar sings how Athēnā appeared with a golden bridle — "take this charm for the horse" — and how, sacrificing to Poseidṓn the horse-breaker, Bellerophōn caught Pḗgasos at the spring of Peirene and from the air slew the fire-breathing beast.

The Reveal, Seat by Seat
Aviation & Aerospace
The winged horse; flight’s oldest mascot from Corinth to Mobil’s red Pegasus. Nobody in that trade worships at this temple. They just keep its hours.
Music, Arts & Performance
Hippocrene: the fountain every poet drinks from. The match is not poetic license. Strip the trade to its function and the function is the myth.
Writing, Publishing & Media
The Muses’ spring-maker; poetic inspiration in heraldic form. The match is not poetic license. Strip the trade to its function and the function is the myth.
Not the First Rebrand
His name is the syncretism: Luwian pihassas, a storm-god honoured in Cilicia, meets the Greek horse — which explains why an earth-and-sea creature serves the sky god's bolts. Rome made him a cavalry emblem and a favourite of coinage; Corinth stamped him on her silver for three centuries as the city's own beast, since Bellerophōn's Corinthian Peirene was his watering place. The office is only the latest translation.
The Method, Stated Plainly
The atlas is not a horoscope. Seats are earned from the sources — argued, weighted, published — and every one of them can be challenged at the methodology page. A match that cannot survive an argument does not survive review. That is the whole trick: the patterns are claims, and claims can be tested.
For the Ones Who Work There
For a sponsor in aviation & aerospace, the fit here is not adjacency — it is inheritance. Your trade already tells this story every working day; the temple simply holds the original. The patron tier and the advertising terms carry the mechanics; the myths above carry the reason.
The File Continues
This is one of 287 Resonance Files — the third dispatch from every flagship temple, where the myths meet the markets. The temple's founding dispatch tells the name's story; its Restoration File tells the spelling's; the blog index holds the whole archive.
Continue the series — previous: Pārvatī (read it) · next: Perkūnas (read it).
The Resonance Files are argued from the same canonical record as the pattern atlas itself: the lexicon, the lore catalog, and the cited sources. Every seat can be challenged at the methodology page — and the challenge is the point.
