Nǚwā at work: disaster resilience & recovery, forestry, conservation & outdoor industries, and the myths that got there first
The myths did not retire. They moved offices. This is the file on where Nǚwā works now.
Nǚwā's two great myths answer the two great questions: where people came from, and why the sky holds. Both are told in the earliest strata of Chinese myth and never improved upon.
The pattern atlas — which maps every flagship temple to the industries its archetype demonstrably resonates with, each match argued and open to challenge — seats this temple in 4 industries. This file reads those seats the way they were earned: through the myths.

The Myth at Work
The Mending of the Sky. The Huáinánzǐ tells it: in high antiquity the four pillars snapped, the nine provinces split; fire raged unquenched, waters rose undrained; fierce beasts devoured the people. Nǚwā melted stones of five colors to mend the azure sky, cut the legs of the great turtle to set the four pillars, slew the black dragon to save Jì province, and heaped reed-ashes to dam the flood. — hold that image; the industries below are where it goes to work.
People of Yellow Earth. The later compendia preserve the gentler myth: Nǚwā, walking alone in the empty world, knelt by the river and shaped human beings from yellow clay. The work delighted but wearied her — so she trailed a rope through the mud and flung the drops, which became people too. — remember the shape of that act. You will see it again, wearing a logo.
The Seats
Each of these is argued in the atlas with a weight and a why-line. What the atlas cannot fit in one line is the whole myth — so here is each seat with its story restored.
Disaster Resilience & Recovery
Emergency management, recovery, and business continuity. (Sector: Commerce & Governance)
The five-colored stones; catastrophe answered with repair. — the atlas stops there, out of discipline. The myth keeps going: the function Nǚwā performs in the stories is precisely the function this industry sells.
Forestry, Conservation & Outdoor Industries
Forestry, wildlife protection, and outdoor recreation. (Sector: Energy & Natural World)
The mender of the broken sky; restoration as divinity. — the atlas stops there, out of discipline. The myth keeps going: the function Nǚwā performs in the stories is precisely the function this industry sells.
Environmental & Climate Services
Climate science, ecology, and sustainability consulting. (Sector: Energy & Natural World)
The why-line says it in one breath: Reed ashes against the flood; the first climate repair. That is not a resemblance; it is the same act, performed in a newer building.
Ancestry & Heritage Services
Genealogy, heritage research, and DNA ancestry. (Sector: Commerce & Governance)
The clay mother; humanity’s shared origin story. — the atlas stops there, out of discipline. The myth keeps going: the function Nǚwā performs in the stories is precisely the function this industry sells.
The Long Employment
Her stones became literature: the great novel Dream of the Red Chamber (Hónglóu mèng) opens with the one stone Nǚwā rejected for the sky — the stone that becomes the hero's jade and the book itself. "Nǚwā mends the sky" is the standing idiom for heroic repair; engineers, surgeons, and diplomats are all praised with it. The age changed. The work did not.
The Method, Stated Plainly
Skeptical? Good — the system is built for you. Every seat in this file carries its why-line and its weight, the full derivation is public at the methodology page, and the challenge process is part of the design. Falsifiable is not a posture here; it is the mechanism.
For the Ones Who Work There
If you work in disaster resilience & recovery, forestry, conservation & outdoor industries, or any trade this temple holds a seat in, this is the honest version of what a placement means: your industry beside the story it has been re-telling all along — on the temple floor itself, before an audience that came specifically to read it. The patron tier and the advertising terms describe the mechanics; the resonance above describes the fit.

The Resonance Files are argued from the same canonical record as the pattern atlas itself: the lexicon, the lore catalog, and the cited sources. Every seat can be challenged at the methodology page — and the challenge is the point.
