The Myth at Work
The Building of Nagoya Castle. In 1612, Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered the construction of Nagoya Castle to secure the strategic Chūbu region and to house his son Yoshinao. The castle was built with materials from Sunpu and Kiyosu, and its golden shachihoko became a symbol of Tokugawa wealth and vigilance. — that is not just a story.
