Kanaloa and the industries that were always telling its story
The myths did not retire. They moved offices. This is the file on where Kanaloa works now.
Hawaiian myths present Kānāloa as a complementary power to Kāne, the creator. Their partnership structures much of traditional cosmology: one god of fresh water and daylight, one of salt sea and depth, together covering the whole of the living world.
The pattern atlas — which maps every flagship temple to the industries its archetype demonstrably resonates with, each match argued and open to challenge — seats this temple in 3 industries. This file reads those seats the way they were earned: through the myths.

The Myth at Work
Kāne and Kānāloa. In Hawaiian cosmogony, Kāne and Kānāloa are paired creator gods. Beckwith's Hawaiian Mythology preserves the tradition that the two traveled together across the primordial ocean, striking the earth with their staffs to open springs of fresh water — Kāne's gift of life in the midst of Kānāloa's salt realm — and calling forth the plants and creatures of the islands. — remember the shape of that act. You will see it again, wearing a logo.
The Discovery of Medicine. The healing tradition, recorded by Kamakau and Malo, begins with Kānāloa himself falling ill, and no remedy in the world able to help him. Kāne prayed and was shown the healing plants of the forest and shore; after Kānāloa was cured, the two gods shared this knowledge with humankind, establishing the practice of lāʻau lapaʻau, traditional Hawaiian herbal medicine, and ordaining the kahuna lāʻau lapaʻau who guarded the recipes — which plant for fever, which for broken bone, which for the sickness of the soul — as a sacred trust handed down within families. — remember the shape of that act. You will see it again, wearing a logo.
The Seats
Each of these is argued in the atlas with a weight and a why-line. What the atlas cannot fit in one line is the whole myth — so here is each seat with its story restored.
Maritime, Shipping & Ocean Industries
Shipping, ports, fishing, and ocean exploration. (Sector: Energy & Natural World)
The why-line says it in one breath: The Hawaiian god of the deep salt ocean, the octopus whose arms reach in all directions like the currents. That is not a resemblance; it is the same act, performed in a newer building.
Funerary & Memorial Services
Funeral care, memorials, and legacy services. (Sector: Society & Spirit)
Ocean and underworld; the deep as final home. — the atlas stops there, out of discipline. The myth keeps going: the function Kanaloa performs in the stories is precisely the function this industry sells.
Gaming, Fantasy & Entertainment IP
Video games, streaming franchises, and fantasy worlds. (Sector: Culture & Entertainment)
Ocean and underworld together; Polynesian mythic depth. Swap the costume and the sentence is indistinguishable from the myth. That is what a resonance seat means.
The Long Employment
Kānāloa's name survives in Hawaiian place names, in the scientific names of deep-sea creatures, and in the cultural revival movements that seek to restore indigenous relationships with the ocean. He is invoked in debates over marine conservation, deep-sea mining, and the rights of native Hawaiians to their waters. The age changed. The work did not.
The Method, Stated Plainly
Skeptical? Good — the system is built for you. Every seat in this file carries its why-line and its weight, the full derivation is public at the methodology page, and the challenge process is part of the design. Falsifiable is not a posture here; it is the mechanism.
For the Ones Who Work There
If you work in maritime, shipping & ocean industries, funerary & memorial services, or any trade this temple holds a seat in, this is the honest version of what a placement means: your industry beside the story it has been re-telling all along — on the temple floor itself, before an audience that came specifically to read it. The patron tier and the advertising terms describe the mechanics; the resonance above describes the fit.

The Resonance Files are argued from the same canonical record as the pattern atlas itself: the lexicon, the lore catalog, and the cited sources. Every seat can be challenged at the methodology page — and the challenge is the point.
