The Name Before the Marks
Spoken, the name runs `/ˈa.la.lu/` — 'AH-lah-loo' — three even syllables; the Hittite/Hurrian original is irrecoverable, so the reconstruction is conservative.
The Temple That Stands Now
The restored name is not a plaque; it is an address. The temple of Alalu lives at /alalu/, with its mythology in the lore halls, its peer-reviewed record in the Scholarly Edition, and its place in the pattern atlas on the patterns floor.

Where the Name Stood First
The 'Kingship in Heaven' myth is preserved in Hittite cuneiform tablets excavated at Boğazköy-Hattusa, the Hittite capital, notably KUB 33.120 with its duplicate and continuation. The tablets belong to the archives of the Hittite royal citadel and represent a Hittite translation or adaptation of a Hurrian original. No independent Hurrian manuscript has survived, so the Hittite copies are the sole direct witnesses to Alalu's myth. The temple on the web is the newest of these addresses — the first one that fits in a pocket.
