When Baldr dreams baleful dreams for his life, Frigg does the one thing foresight permits: she fights the future with an oath. She travels the world and exacts from all things — fire and water, iron and every metal, stones, earth, trees, sicknesses, beasts, birds, poison, serpents — the promise that they will not harm Baldr.

The atlas states the seat in one line: Queen of the Æsir and consort of Óðinn — the only figure the sources show outmaneuvering him (the Grímnismál wager). The story above is the long version of the same sentence. That is the cycle working: story becomes duty, duty becomes trade.

Wedding, Family & Maternity — through The Tears in Fensalir

Loki, in a woman's shape, comes to Fensalir and draws the single omission out of Frigg herself — she tells the stranger that nothing east or west of Valhöll was left unsworn except one young shoot. When the throw falls and Baldr lies dead, it is Frigg who finds the first voice in the silent hall and asks who among the Æsir will ride to Hel and offer ransom — the grief-struck mother still doing strategy.

Space, Astronomy & Celestial Science — through She Knows All Fate, and Says It Not

The Poetic Edda's flyting gives Frigg her doctrine. When Loki turns his slander on the queen — his taunts are the poem's business, not the tradition's verdict — Óðinn answers for her, and then Freyja speaks the line that defines her: 'Frigg knows, I think, all fate, though she does not speak it.
