Yamunotri, her glacier source in the Garhwal Himalaya, keeps her temple (rebuilt after earthquakes, hot springs beside it). Mathurā and Vṛndāvana preserve the Kṛṣṇa-ghāts — Vishram Ghāt where the god rested after killing Kaṃsa — and Prayāgrāj's sangam fort and akshayavata tree mark the confluence. The medieval ghāt architecture of the Braj country documents five centuries of Krishna-pilgrimage on her banks.
