How Tēzcatlīpōca was rebuilt, mark by mark

What We Found
The attestation runs through the tradition's own sources: —. Meaning: "Smoking mirror".
The figure behind the name: Tēzcatlīpōca's myths are all contest: with the earth-monster, with Quetzalcōātl, with the proud — he is the force that measures the strong by breaking them.
What the Name Carried In
The Foot in the Jaws. To make the world, Tēzcatlīpōca and Quetzalcōātl descended to the primordial waters where the caiman-monster Cipactli floated, all mouths. He offered his own foot as bait; the monster bit it off, and the two gods tore Cipactli apart — her body becoming the earth, her eyes the springs, her mouth the cave of creation.
The Jaguar Sun. Tēzcatlīpōca was the first sun, Nahui Ocēlōtl, "Four Jaguar": his world of giants ended when Quetzalcōātl struck him from the sky, and jaguars devoured the people. Through the succession of suns the two brothers keep unmaking each other's worlds — the Aztec cosmos is their long quarrel, and the present fifth sun is only the latest armistice, held together by sacrifice.
A spelling that has to carry stories like these is not a label. It is equipment.
Where It Stood Before Us
His obsidian mirrors survive across collections — the British Museum's Dee mirror foremost — ground from the volcanic glass that Pachuca and Otumba supplied by the ton. The Florentine Codex's account of Toxcatl, illustrated by Nahua artists under Sahagún, is the fullest ritual description from the pre-Columbian world. Templo Mayor excavations found his cult's material traces among the offerings, and the Tizoc Stone and Calendar Stone's jaguar-sun glyph keeps his first age on the empire's central monuments. The bench inherits all of it — the web temple is the newest site, not the first.

The evidence, mark by mark — 3 features the keyboard form tezcatlipoca cannot hold:

What We Rejected
The plain ASCII tezcatlipoca — admissible as a fallback, never as the primary. A wrong accent would have been worse: the rulebook is explicit that a misplaced mark is worse than none.
What We Set Down
Tēzcatlīpōca — The restoration preserves more than the ASCII form can express — stress, length, or a letter the Latin keyboard lost — which places it, mechanically, in Tier-1.
For the voice: tehs-kaht-lee-POH-kah — hold the first e and the lee long, with long ō on the stressed penult.
The temple stands at /sites/tezcatlipoca/ — the notes above are public in its Scholarly Edition, sources and all.
