How Perkūnas was rebuilt, mark by mark

What We Found
The attestation runs through the tradition's own sources: —. Meaning: "Lithuanian/Baltic thunder deity, cognate with Slavic Perun and Indo-Iranian Parjanya.".
The figure behind the name: Perkūnas's mythology is preserved largely in Lithuanian and Latvian folklore recorded in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
What the Name Carried In
Perkūnas and the Oak. In Lithuanian folklore, Perkūnas strikes the oak with lightning, and the fire that results is sacred. Oak groves were his temples, and people would kindle new fire from a tree hit by his bolt.
Pērkons Judges the Liar. Latvian dainas (folk songs) sing of Pērkons striking the homes of those who swear false oaths or cheat their neighbors. The thunder god is not indifferent weather; he is a moral agent who punishes hidden crimes that human courts cannot reach.
A spelling that has to carry stories like these is not a label. It is equipment.
Where It Stood Before Us
Direct archaeological evidence for Perkūnas's cult is limited because it was largely suppressed and conducted in natural settings. However, Baltic hillforts, sacred oak groves, and deposits of stone axes interpreted as thunderstones attest to sky-god veneration. Neolithic and Bronze Age stone axes were often kept as protective thunderstones in Baltic households. Christian churches and crosses sometimes occupy former sacred oak sites, and Latvian dainas preserve the oral memory of a once-widespread thunder cult. The bench inherits all of it — the web temple is the newest site, not the first.

What We Rejected
perkunas as the primary form. It survives as the convenience it is; it does not get to lead. The hierarchy is full restoration first, and this name can afford to stand at the top of it.

Perkūnas — What survives here cannot be shown in ASCII: a feature of the original that the fallback alphabet flattens. That is the Tier-1 test, and this name passes it without argument.
For the voice: pyair-KOO-nuss — roll the 'r,' make the 'oo' long, and give the final syllable a light hiss.
