The appointments Ọṣun made — and who is keeping them
Take Ọṣun's stories in sequence. They are not episodes; they are appointments — and the modern trades are keeping them.

The Cycle, Read Forward
Beauty, Fashion & Cosmetics — through The Creation That Failed Without Her
When the orishas set out to organise the world, the men among them — Ọbatalá, Ọ̀gún, Ṣàngó and the rest — took the tasks for themselves and ignored Ọṣun, the only woman in their number. Everything they attempted failed: what they built collapsed, what they planted withered, and their councils came to nothing.
The atlas states the seat in one line: Beauty, sweetness, and adornment; the river that gilds. The story above is the long version of the same sentence. Industries do not invent their archetypes; they inherit them and call them best practice.
Love, Dating & Relationships — through The River Chooses a City
Tradition holds that Oshogbo was founded when the river goddess made herself known to the town's first rulers and claimed the grove along her banks as her dwelling. The Òṣun River is not her symbol but her body, and the seventy-odd acres of forest around it — the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005 — are her palace (Drewal, Yoruba Ritual, 1992; Murphy and Sanford 2001).
The atlas states the seat in one line: The sweet river of love; attraction as fresh water. The story above is the long version of the same sentence. That is the cycle working: story becomes duty, duty becomes trade.
Freshwater & Hydrology — through Honey Against Thunder
Ọṣun is the favourite wife of Ṣàngó, and their pairing joins fire and water. In the traditions recorded by Verger (Notes sur le Culte des Orisa et Vodun, 1981) and in Cuban lineages (Murphy, Santería, 1988), she is the one being in heaven or earth who can calm the thunder-king's rage — not by resisting him but by feeding him honey and laughing until his anger melts.
The atlas states the seat in one line: The sweet river itself; freshwater as love, fertility, and livelihood. The story above is the long version of the same sentence. The trade thinks it is optimizing a process. It is re-enacting a charter.
Agriculture, Food & Harvest — through When the River Withdrew
Devotees tell that when Ọṣun is neglected or insulted — her grove cut, her priestesses mocked, her waters fouled — the river itself withdraws its blessing. The water runs low or turns strange, women miscarry, the barren find no relief, and the crops along her banks sicken.
The atlas states the seat in one line: Freshwater fertility; the river that sweetens the crop. The story above is the long version of the same sentence. The trade thinks it is optimizing a process. It is re-enacting a charter.
The Theme That Runs the Cycle
Ọṣun's stories are told in Ifá verses, river rituals, and the annual Oshogbo festival. They centre on the power of sweetness, the necessity of women's wisdom, and the river as a living goddess.
The Method, Stated Plainly
None of this is numerology. A seat exists only where the match can be argued from the deity’s documented domains and deeds — weighted, published, and falsifiable. The derivation, the weights, and the challenge process are public on the methodology page. If a seat in this file reads wrong, the atlas itself tells you how to prove it — and the correction becomes part of the record.
For the Ones Who Work There
If you work in beauty, fashion & cosmetics, love, dating & relationships, or any trade this temple holds a seat in, this is the honest version of what a placement means: your industry beside the story it has been re-telling all along — on the temple floor itself, before an audience that came specifically to read it. The patron tier and the advertising terms describe the mechanics; the resonance above describes the fit.
The File Continues
One of 546 Resonance Files — the series where the pantheon goes to work. Read the founding dispatch for the name, the Restoration File for the spelling, or the whole archive end to end.
Continue the series — previous: Ōsaka (read it) · next: Ouranía (read it).
The Resonance Files are argued from the same canonical record as the pattern atlas itself: the lexicon, the lore catalog, and the cited sources. Every seat can be challenged at the methodology page — and the challenge is the point.
