Fūjin walks into a wind & atmospheric energy firm
The wind & atmospheric energy world does not cite Fūjin in its documentation. It does not need to — it performs the archetype daily, unbilled.
Before the Office, the Story
The Birth of the Wind Kami. The wind kami are older than the name Fūjin. In the Kojiki's birth-of-the-kami sequence, the wind god Shina-tsu-hiko (志那都比古) and his partner Shina-tsu-hime are born as Izanagi and Izanami take stock of the elemental kami of the new-made land; the Nihon Shoki preserves the lovelier etiology — Izanagi, looking out over the country he had made, found it wrapped in morning mist, breathed, and blew the fog away, and that first breath became the wind god. The thunder kami have a harsher nativity: when the fire god Kagutsuchi burned his mother Izanami to death, Izanagi cut him down, and from the sword's blood were born the thunder gods, among them Takemikazuchi — born, like storm's own electricity, from the catastrophe of fire itself.
The Cave and the Returning Winds. When Amaterasu hid herself in the heavenly rock-cave (Ama-no-Iwato), the world did not merely lose its light — it lost its motion: the kami assembled in the dark, and the very winds of heaven stilled with everything else. The ritual comedy by which the goddess was lured back — the cock, the mirror, Ame-no-Uzume's dance on an upturned tub — is therefore also a weather-myth: when the cave door opened, light returned with wind, rain, and the movement of all things (Kojiki; Aston's Nihongi). The medieval tradition that paired Fūjin with Raijin at temple gates read this old story into architecture: wind and thunder stand together at the threshold because both are signs that the hidden has come back out.

Wind & Atmospheric Energy
The wind-bag on his shoulders holds every gale; when he opens it, forests tear and roofs scatter — Japan’s wind made kami. Nobody in that trade worships at this temple. They just keep its hours.
Aviation & Aerospace
Now read the why-line with the office in mind: He carries the winds of the world in his bag; every flight plan reads his moods. The people doing this work did not borrow the archetype. They re-derived it — the way Fūjin was always going to be re-derived wherever wind matters.
Gaming, Fantasy & Entertainment IP
Now read the why-line with the office in mind: Manga, anime, and games cast him as overwhelming natural force; the wind-bag is a global shorthand. The people doing this work did not borrow the archetype. They re-derived it — the way Fūjin was always going to be re-derived wherever wind matters.
Music, Arts & Performance
Sōtatsu's Fūjin-Raijin screens are national treasures; his image is art history's own icon. Nobody in that trade worships at this temple. They just keep its hours.
Meteorology & Weather Intelligence
Now read the why-line with the office in mind: Typhoons and seasonal winds are still spoken of in his name; the gale is his dataset. The people doing this work did not borrow the archetype. They re-derived it — the way Fūjin was always going to be re-derived wherever wind matters.
Not the First Rebrand
Fūjin descends from the Chinese wind deity Fengshen, transmitted to Japan along with Buddhism and continental iconography. He also resembles wind gods across Eurasia, from the Greek Boreas and the Vedic Vāta to the Central Asian wind demons depicted on Silk Road textiles. The office is only the latest translation.
The Method, Stated Plainly
The atlas is not a horoscope. Seats are earned from the sources — argued, weighted, published — and every one of them can be challenged at the methodology page. A match that cannot survive an argument does not survive review. That is the whole trick: the patterns are claims, and claims can be tested.
For the Ones Who Work There
For a sponsor in wind & atmospheric energy, the fit here is not adjacency — it is inheritance. Your trade already tells this story every working day; the temple simply holds the original. The patron tier and the advertising terms carry the mechanics; the myths above carry the reason.
The File Continues
This is one of 546 Resonance Files — the third dispatch from every flagship temple, where the myths meet the markets. The temple's founding dispatch tells the name's story; its Restoration File tells the spelling's; the blog index holds the whole archive.
Continue the series — previous: Fuji (read it) · next: Fulla (read it).
The Resonance Files are argued from the same canonical record as the pattern atlas itself: the lexicon, the lore catalog, and the cited sources. Every seat can be challenged at the methodology page — and the challenge is the point.
