The Cult
No one ever built a temple to Búri, and no festival bore his name. His entire attestation is literary: one scene in Snorri's Gylfaginning (6), where Auðumla licks him from the rime, and the half-line of Völuspá 4, Búrs synir — Burr's sons — which may preserve a dimmer memory of the same genealogy. No inscription, votive deposit, place-name, or calendar entry names him; Scandinavian rock art gives cattle and sun-wheels, but nothing that can be tied to this figure. Modern Heathenry, which does honor him as the divine ancestor of the Æsir, is a revival movement without ancient precedent for his cult.
